Freedom From vs Freedom For…Canadian Election

One of the most important lessons I learned after beginning this blog in December of 2010 was the importance of being ‘for’ something. If you are targeting positive change, it is not enough to be against something; you also have to know what you are for. Against or ‘freedom from’ is bourn of negative energy, usually fear, but can also be things like jealousy, insecurity etc…always from the negative spectrum. Freedom for is bourn of positive energy, such as love or oneness, generosity etc…always from the positive spectrum. It is easy to be against something, being for something takes more thought and preparation.

Moving away from something you don’t like is often a rudderless action and once achieved, you can be poorly placed unless you have done your homework and know what you want instead. When I began writing this blog, I knew what I did not want, self-interested people controlling humanity; but I did not know what I wanted instead…that took some work and represented an important lesson to me.

I apply these same principles when voting.  It is not enough for a candidate to know what they don’t want…usually the end of an existing regime; they must also know what they want instead. Most have some idea of what they want, ‘freedom for’, and that is what I look at. If their freedom for matches mine, they get my vote…not otherwise.

For the last couple of decades, I have been voting for the Green party. They have no real chance of winning but that is not the point…what they stand for is much closer to what I want than any of the other parties and so they get my vote.

Five or six weeks ago I wrote the following paragraph: The political process in Canada is controlled by the few as they fund generously and expect favours in return. Occasionally someone comes along that is not backed by the few and in the three horse race that is happening in the upcoming federal election, there exists such a candidate, a young man by the name of Justin Trudeau, the son of a former charismatic Prime Minister. He used social media and existing loop-holes to gain the leadership of his party without relying on funding by the few. As such, he still has sovereignty.

Trudeau passed my ‘freedom for’ criteria and I waffled as to whether I would continue to vote Green or vote for Trudeau. On the day before the vote, a local newspaper featured an anti Trudeau front page…that decided it. If this newspaper, owned and controlled by the few, did not want Trudeau elected; I did.

Trudeau and his Liberal party won the election and will form a majority government under Trudeau’s leadership.

Will Trudeau be willing and able to bring real change to Canadians? Will that change bring a Light based shared timeline to Canada and assist in bringing a Light based shared timeline to all of humanity? I do not know but Trudeau’s energy is Light based energy, unlike the outgoing administration that transparently served the few. Trudeau is here to serve the people of Canada…what a novel concept…lol.

At the very least, Trudeau will be supportive and aligned should the Light based shift happen during his term in office. At the best, Trudeau will be part of the Light based shift soon to come.

Freedom for humanity…
